objective 1- Network Infrastructure Designing

Create a network infrastructure design communications document that includes identified hardware components, connections to the outside world, identified physical layer connectivity (media) and addressing, including operational and security components in the design.

In my Network Security coursework, I gained a strong foundation in designing secure, scalable network infrastructures. One of my key accomplishments was completing a detailed network design for a small organization, including diagrams that showed physical and logical connections between routers, switches, firewalls, and access points. I used tools like Cisco Packet Tracer to simulate these designs and applied subnetting techniques to ensure efficient IP address allocation.

I also included operational and security elements in my designs, such as firewall zones, DMZ architecture, and VLAN segmentation. This helped me understand how to balance usability with protection. The documentation I created explained each component’s purpose and how it contributed to network performance and security.

This objective taught me how to think like a network architect—someone who doesn’t just connect devices, but builds systems with reliability, security, and future growth in mind.
