Objective 3 - Security Scripting and Automation

In NTS370 – Shell Scripting for Technologists, I developed a cross-platform administrative toolkit using Bash, Fish, and PowerShell. This toolkit automated tasks such as process monitoring, log analysis, file synchronization, and network diagnostics. It demonstrated my ability to write efficient scripts for both Windows and Linux environments and taught me how to create reusable code that adapts to multiple platforms. This experience strengthened my ability to automate security and administrative tasks across real-world systems.

In NTW216 – Foundations of Systems Administration, I applied automation within Windows Server environments through the implementation of Group Policy Objects (GPOs). I used GPOs to enforce password policies, restrict access to certain tools, and deploy security settings across an Active Directory network. This allowed for consistent, policy-based automation of administrative and security tasks — an essential skill for managing modern enterprise systems.

Both projects reflect my ability to not only script but to strategically automate system security and management in diverse IT environments.
